When you talk about a true role model and idol for kids to look up to, Nicole Selvaggi-Landry is just that. Nicole is a Kindergarten Teacher at Frank G. Lindsey, teaching and making an impact on young lives all day long on a daily basis. But, it doesn’t stop there. After school Nicole is the Cheerleading Coach for Hendrick Hudson High School-an elite group of athletes who (with Nicole’s incredible coaching skills) have went on to compete both regional and national competitions. If that weren’t impressive enough, Nicole is the Director of a youth cheerleading program that she started in her town for grades K-6.. A Fabulous Working Female in every way, Nicole inspires us all in the dedication and true passion she has on not only working with children, but dedicating her careers mission in making a positive impact on her community for the children.

Tell us about yourself!

Hello! My name is Nicole Selvaggi-Landry ~ I am going into my 5th year at Frank G. Lindsey in one of the kindergarten classrooms! I also coach cheerleading for HHHS and am Director of the youth program that I started for cheerleading for grades K-6!

What inspired you to become a teacher?

Working with children and coaching children while watching them grow has always been a passion of mine. Their little minds are always inquiring and their love to learn is beyond rewarding.

What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?

My favorite thing about being a teacher is when you are actually able to learn from your students. As I am teaching them, they are teach me. And when they come back when they are older to say “thanks” it validates why I chose to teach!!!!!!!

Can you describe what makes you feel FABULOUS when teaching/being a teacher?

There are many things but what makes me feel fabulous is walking into the classroom every day, or during this time of the world, logging into to a google meet and the children greeting you with “good morning, what are we doing today!?” They rely on my as their teacher to fill their day with knowledge and love and there is nothing more fabulous than that!!!

Thank you, Nicole, for being such a light and inspiration in all of the children’s lives you touch. Whether it be a kindergartner in the classroom, a youth cheerleader who aspires to be on your team one day, or the high school athletes you coach-you have single handedly made our community a better place. We know the future will be nothing but successful and fabulous for you, and we look forward to seeing all that you will accomplish in the future!
