Tell us about yourself!

I am an - almost - 23 year old gal who just started a business in the middle of a global wide pandemic. I think that fact alone speaks a lot about who I am. I recently just opened up my own online boutique, Good Tuesday. A little nuts of me to begin a start-up company with little to no experience in the middle of quarantine but hey why not! I believe in going for whatever it is you want and not stopping until you get it. I really try to remind myself daily how short life can be and how silly it is to not at least try for your dreams! I would say my mindset is different from others my age. I never saw myself working for someone else and when I used to say that to people they would look at me like I was crazy. (Heads up: I am definitely a little crazy). But you have to be a little outside of the box to be successful I think! You have to believe there is more for you than just following a straight line. Right now I’m so far from the straight line. I’m on the superman ride at Playland flipping upside down, going sideways! Something I take very seriously in life is to never settle. Not for a job, not for a boy, not for a friend, not for anything. Like I said, life is short, why waste time with anything less than what will make you the happiest you can be?

What are your Aspirations?

I have 3 main goals in this venture of my life. First was to find my passion which I believe I have. Fashion has always been a piece of my life, and now I have found a way to make a career out of it. I love finding pieces outside of the norm while also including classic staples because I feel like that’s me as a person, sometimes wild and sometimes very simple. A lot of people go throughout life never finding their passion, so I’m extremely grateful I took the time to really ask myself, “Lexa what is it that you want truly?” and I encourage everyone else to do so as well. Next goal was to spread kindness. Like I said, I did not follow the social norm of what to do after college (get a 9-5, work in some city, etc.). I rather stayed home and spent about 8 months of the year wallowing that I didn’t know what to do and feeling different than everyone else and then the next 4 doing something about it. I’m so grateful for where I am now but I think it's important to note it wasn’t always this rainbow and sunshine for me. I really felt like an outcast after graduating and because of that struggled with anxiety and depression. Because of this, it has now made me a way more understanding and inclusive person. They say you grow through what you go through and that is 100% the case for me. But I also learned I am only one in millions of others who suffer from mental illnesses. My brand isn’t just to sell cute clothes and make some money, that would be boring. My brand, Good Tuesday, is to help people, of all kind, to feel good and with that DO good. You never know what someone is going through and because of that you should always strive to be kind even to that random stranger who cut you off on the highway. Finally my last goal would be to inspire. I remember receiving so many “what the heck?!” looks when I told people I wanted to start my own business. I even still do sometimes. The other day someone asked me, “So is this like a hobby or part time job or...?”. The truth is, people who don’t get it will most likely never get it until they start to actually see it. I want to be a force of inspiration for those people who don’t need to see it to believe it. Those people who get that gut feeling and just know, this is what I’m meant to do. Those people who feel a little different from the rest and because of that, may not feel like they are on the right path. I want to inspire them and prove that life is not one road for everyone. There are turns and highways and backroads and sometimes even U-turns. Sometimes, you even need to step on the brake and stop for a little. I want to show people that this is OKAY. And that just because you may be moving slower than others, or maybe don’t even know where you’re headed, doesn’t mean you’re stuck. You can do whatever you put your heart and mind to.

Can you describe what makes you feel FABULOUS while working?

What makes me feel fabulous? Oh so many things! The support from my friends and family, making a successful sale and hearing great reviews on my shipping/products, seeing my clothes on my beautiful customers! Most of all what makes me feel fabulous is knowing that each day, as I wake up, I can do what I love. I think that there are many external factors that help me in feeling fabulous but the internal feeling of knowing that I am really take advantage of every single day I get and making it the best it can be. Now Im not saying all my days are amazing, I spend days laying on the couch watching netflix with food crumbs all over me. But! I am saying that I do strive to do the best I can each and every day. Because time is too precious to be wasted. Stop waiting around for something amazing to happen and make something amazing happen. The purpose of life is to live it, experiencing the good and the bad. Don’t just “get by” till the weekend, enjoy today. Make it a Good Tuesday.
