Fabulous Working Females

Weekly Spotlight Feature

Introducing, Amanda Tomaselli!

Digital Media expert Amanda Tomaselli is who I call, FABULOUS! When she is not working as a Project Manager helping drive digital business forward for her company, Amanda is studying as she is pursuing her Master’s Degree at Emerson College in Digital Marketing & Data Analytics.

A Fabulous Working Female in every way, Amanda is always striving to be the best version of herself for both personal and professional success.

Tell us about yourself!

Hi FWFs! I'm Amanda, a 27-year-old New York native currently living in the beautiful city of Charlotte, NC. Professionally, I currently work for a radio and digital media company that owns over 60 radio stations in 15 mid-sized markets across the United States. Music is one of my sparks, so I love that I get to work in a music driven space! I currently serve as a Project Manager for our Digital division, in which I drive the coordination on company initiatives such as platform integrations, e-commerce and website content and experiences for the stations. Additionally, I also work part-time doing social media and content management for a small acne-care brand. Before this position, I was in a client-facing role in the local advertising department for the media group. Before moving to Charlotte, I had experience working for a nonprofit on Long Island and for a public relations/communications agency in Manhattan. In 2015, I graduated from the State University of New York at Oswego, where I studied Public Relations and Journalism. I was involved with the Student Association Programming Board and Phi Sigma Sigma sorority.

When I am not working, you can catch me studying for my Master's degree in Digital Marketing and Data Analytics. Although it has been a challenge, I have learned so much and have been able to connect with really amazing students also in the industry!

When I am not working or studying I love going to concerts or music/art/culture festivals, being lazy on a beach somewhere, and spending quality time with my fiance, pup, friends, and family.

What are your Aspirations?

Sometimes I think I have too many aspirations but dream big, right?!

I remember sitting in one of my PR classes in undergrad telling myself that one day I'd be a CEO or CMO of a company. To this day, I still aspire to do that. I have a lot to learn but I would love to one day lead a company or possibly even own one myself! I want to be able to lead an inclusive culture where employees are beyond just an ID number but valued as the thought leaders, creatives, and tastemakers they are. All input and ideas would be welcomed at every single level, from interns to C-level executives.

In my personal life, I aspire to be the best version of myself I can be. Each day it takes work and requires lots of patience with yourself, but each day I try to be better than I was the day before. I'm all for the level up! Whether it is changing my mindset, completing a task, or something as simple as doing a face mask, these little acts have changed my life. I hope that this energy is contagious to those around me and I love supporting those going through their "level up" journey. :)

Can you describe what makes you feel FABULOUS while working?

At work, I feel most fabulous when my actions or input make a positive difference. I love being able to collaborate with my team to improve or enrich user experiences or help co-workers optimize their workday.

I also feel fabulous at work when I get to learn new things! Especially in the digital marketing world, there are constantly new technologies, networks, or algorithms to learn, so it's important to stay hungry for new knowledge, and to be coachable. Soak up everything you can from anyone willing to teach or mentor you. What has really helped me in this has been connecting with like-minded professionals on LinkedIn, subscribing to industry newsletters, and taking certifications online. Knowledge is power!

Thank you, Amanda, for showing us that there is nothing we as women can’t do. If we make the time and are passionate in our efforts, the limits are endless for our potential. We know the future will be nothing but bright and successful for you, and we look forward to following along!
