Tell us about yourself!
Hi! My name is Julie & I am 29 , and married with 3 children. I am a hair stylist and work at Montrose Hair Studio. I went to cosmetology school in high school because I always saw myself becoming a hairdresser. Being a stylist/colorist at Montrose hair studio is amazing. My boss & staff provide nothing but good vibes, which is so important to have in a work environment. When I’m not working at the hair salon, I love to hang out with my family.
What are your Aspirations?
I am extremely inspired by Kristen Lumiere. She’s a very well-known hair colorist who started off doing hair right around the same time I did and now is crushing it. She also has 3 kids & she works in her own hair studio as an independent hair stylist. I take online classes with her when she has them to learn new techniques. The work she does is amazing & I keep thriving to be at her level when it comes to doing hair.
Can you describe what makes you feel FABULOUS while working?
I have always loved to make people happy & feel confident. Therefore, when a client walks through the door for any hair service my main goal is to make them feel fabulous when they leave.
Self-care & self-confidence is more valuable than people may think. I find it very important, so getting your hair done can be a game changer. The best feeling is when you get to turn the chair around after finishing up with a client, and seeing their reaction to the end results. This is what pushes me to go further in my career & take on any challenge. Not only do I love what I do, but I also get to give people the feeling of confidence and joy. What many don’t realize is, that I also get that feeling in return, and that is how I know why this job was meant for me.
